It's been a while since I posted.  Not for lack of stuff to post about.  I'm gonna a top whatever number I get to list of things from last week that ruled.
 
1. Prince, Baby, Prince! - He was awesome as I specified in the previous blog.  It was so much fun hangin with my homie and enjoyin all that Purple deliciousness.
 
2. Partying after the concert  - I felt so trendy and hip in my new favorite skirt at APT which sorta looks like a speakeasy from outside but is all hip and plush inside. Me Likee! I got on their mailing list and everything.
 
3. Partying with my Girls - We went to Suede on Thursday and got our drink and party on! Although I looked like a shit slug (tm V) I had the best time.  I must make a habit out of just going out. I'm becoming a shutin.  We danced our asses off and drank like fish. The DJ was so damn good. I don't think we sat down much at all. It was way too much fun. Never mind that I was null and void at work the next day. It was worth it. I'm gonna insist that we do it again.
 
4. Hanging out with my Line Sisters - It was so good to see them and catch up on their lives.  We walked around and chatted.  As usual, N dropped bombs on us. This time she's getting divorced (Yay! I'm sorry but her soon to be ex was a horse's ass and I'm glad she got hip now and not 20 years later after much time has been wasted) and she's dating a white guy, which is not a big deal, I'm just surprised that N is doing it.  Actually, no not really. My LS is just open and easygoing enough to handle an interracial relationship.  And truth be told, I'm happy if she's happy.  W just celebrated her 2nd year of marriage to her husband P, who is Black (W is Latina) and she was telling us about the crap she gets from Sisters since W looks white.  I wish Sisters would stop embarassing themselves. 
 
I really don't mind interacial relationships too much.  It's none of my business and folks love who they love.  If it is in fact love.  I hate to generalize (but I will) but most of the time when Brothers date white it's for straight bullshit reasons.  Usually those reasons come down to "easiness" and material gain. By easiness I mean that they assume that the white woman they're with will let many things slide and not challenge them and give them things.  Which may or may not be true.  But on the flip, if it's love...well good for them and god bless them. Everybody deserves to be happy and in love.
 
What I don't like is when the Brothers feel like they can't acknowledge us  when they are with their other.  Like they expect me to start snarling and pop out some fangs.  I wouldn't give them that much satisfaction, because it plays in to all of the stereotypical emasculating Black bitch crap that the bullshit Brothers use to justify their preference.  Which is why I wish Sisters would stop acting a damn fool when they see interracial couples.
 
I do have a double standard when it comes to Sisters dating white men.  Because I know that more often than not it's not bullshit.  A sister really has to weigh all the crap she'll get and the historical crap behind it.  Also, the Brothers will throw much shade since they are operating on their very own double standard as well.  But facts are, Brothers haven't been on their game & if a Sister goes out side her race to find love it ain't surprising.
 
Whew, I've been on the soap box for a minute. I'm gonna step down.  It's getting late anyway and I have to hit my bed soon or I will be null & void again at work tomorrow. 
 
Oh, but before that, I will do my list of things that sucked ass last week
 
1. Work - coming in after 2 days of not having to, sucked major ass.
 
2. Work - finding out more cool people are leaving the company, while I'm still there
 
3. Work - finding 17 tons of work to do and getting more passed to me since the bitch that used to pass me her work left and now I'm straight doing her work.
 
I'm sure there will be more things that suck to be added since my job never fails to dissapoint.
