Is what I'm doing today. It's what I did yesterday too. Me and Zeen hit the Brownstoners of Bed-Stuy event yesterday. It was a house tour of homes through out my neighborhood. We basically got to tramp through folks homes and see some of the stunning design work that has been lovingly done on their homes. Just as it was the first time I went, I left with filled with inspiration. It's the first time we've gone since we got our own place and it was even more awesome because this time we have our own spot to apply the ideas to.
We visited Zeen's mom and grandmother in Queens after and then we headed homeward for some necessary grub and some chill time at home. Today I'm hitting an Alvin Ailey performance at Lehman College uptown with Vic and the Earlster. Gots to get some culture you know and what better place to do it than NY.
In wedding news, I've finally started to make some moves with my vendors and I've got a couple of calls in to photographers and DJs and whatnot. I've got a few appointments scheduled and we'll see how it goes. I've got 8 months ya'll! Let the madness begin!!! I was in the car with Zeen yesterday and I was looking at my beautiful ring as I often do and he said "we're all most there". I snapped my head up as I was bounced back from a daydream and looked at him and said with a screech "we're getting married!"
Seriously, we've got our engagement pics scheduled for next week and everything. I got my hair did and I every time I look in the mirror I bust out singing Gypsies, Tramps, & Thieves cause my hair looks like Cher's back in the day. Hee! Very Pocahontas.
Holy shit ya'll! It's all happening.
