So I went to Washington DC this weekend to see my homie Sug. It was great! It was a grown and sexy weekend for grown ass women. Sugar cooked dinner in her lovely apartment, we had wine, we watched Chappelle's show season 1 on DVD. Her homie Sharon (a dude) scooped us up in his hoopty and we toured the sites. We went to the Eastern Market and checked out the bazaar and the food market.
We also hit the Smithsonian's African Art segment and checked out some awesome artwork. We had dinner at some cool spots and just had a great time. I think I had a physical reaction to being so near to evil. Dick Cheney must have been out of the oxygen chamber they keep him in when he's not feeding on babies, puppies, & kittens or shooting old dudes in the face, because I had the worst allergy shit going on.
Most importantly, it was great to see my best friend. She looks wonderful and happy and she's joyfully under-employed and she put me on to this book. She really gave me a lot to think about in terms of living life your way and doing what makes you happy. She's my beacon for that very thing and she's making it work. She's getting her Brazil tour company off the ground and she's focused and she's gonna succeed. It's revolutionary actually and I'm thinking I'm gonna get on board. I've already ordered a copy of the book which is hella interesting. I'm going to get my own revolution started and I'm going to do just what the hell I want to do.
It's past time. I just need to shake my fear off.
Later.......................
