Pleasure Spot

What's your pleasure spot? And no it's not that you freak. I'm referring to that thing or things that make you really happy. I just finished an article by Steven King about little sources of pleasure that make you forget about where you are or what you doing and make you pause & enjoy.

It could be a song, person or movie. For me right now it's the sound of Feist's voice. I find that music is full of pleasure spots for me. There is always a song that makes me forget where I am or if I am cognizant of where I am, I have to fight the urge to do the robot or the running man right where I stand.

One of the best examples of this is a time when I was at a lounge in the middle of a conversation with this cat and he jumped up and started spazzin out to the jam the DJ was spinnin.

It was pure & unbridled joy that I was watching and just as fast as he started jammin on the one, just as quickly he stopped & returned to the convo. All I could do was laugh.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could somehow bottle that feeling and spritz it on when you need it? Like when you want to choke a bitch at work or when you feel your absolute worst? That would be awesome in a very real way.

In no particular order here are some of my pleasure triggers:

1. When Zeen tells me he loves me
2. When Zeen tells me I'm pretty
3. Dancing Machine by The Jackson 5 (when that Dancin, Dancin, Dancin part comes on at the start of the song, I have to fight myself not to do the robot wherever I am)
4. MJ's Thriller video (them dancing zombies jammin do it everytime)
5. Flight of The Conchords (they just make me happy)
6. The beatbox breakdown on JT's Rock Your Body (yeah. What?)
7. Jen Lancaster's writing
8. The comments on Crunk & Disorderly (Someone always says something hysterical to make me spew coffee on my keyboard)
9. Being around truly funny people & making them laugh (big shouts to The Secret Squirel Society & The LGS Crew)
10. Amy Winehouse (anyone who can work the word fuckery into a song is alright with me)

Your turn. What does it for you?

Later.........

P.S.: I saw The Police last night & Stewart Copeland is officially one of my pleasure spots. He's the man!
