It's been a while since I could post since I've been hemmed up at work. I was just thinking about the complete and utter breakdown of the concept of manners in our society.

It seems to be magnified where the youth is concerned. Case in point, I'm standing on line at the local supermarket to get some stuff for my Sands T, who is laid up at the moment (long story). Anyway I'm on line and these kids truly push past me to get in front of me on the line. Now, I would have graciously let them in front of me or whatever if they had the common courtesy to say excuse me. Mind you, it wasn't like one kid who pushed past me, it was like 3 or 4. I was so done. I felt myself getting really mad and I took a deep breath and said.......nothing.

That's where I was wrong. I should have let the shorties know that they were being rude and that excuse me works way better than just shoving folks out of the way.

When did we all become punks to the kids? What happened to that village that was helping to raise the children?

I guess all of that went out the window when the kids started packing gats and taking swings at their elders. I'm too tired to stay on my soapbox and pontificate about the lack of guidance given to the kids. Especially when I'm not giving any either. I think I'll start though.

Til later........
