I haven't done this much Zeta related activity in a minute.
On Friday despite my incredible tiredness I went out my Sands AL & TT. We had a ball! It was old school night at the club and we got our dance on! They hit all the good stuff from the 70s, 80s, & 90s. I was accosted by Nipple High Nerds all night. All of them young as hell and cornier than a field in Iowa. My ego was not stoked by this at all. I had on my Hustler T so my boobs were prominently placed by no fault of their own so all of the NHNs spent their time ogling them while attempting to dance with me. I had a couple of Gimlets so I was feeling no pain. I also had no filter as alcohol has a truth telling effect on me. So I did not pause in asking some of the cornier characters what the hell they thought they were doing. I asked one if he was even old enough to be here. Anyhoo, me & AL went as back up for TTs little dude she was going to hook up with along with his friends who were celebrating their March & April birthdays.
One of his friends was a set of twins celebrating their 30th. As with most sets of twins there was a “good” twin & a “bad” twin. The good twin was good looking and friendly and dancing with all the ladies. But not in a gropey-grindy kind of way which made him cool to dance with. The bad twin was aloof, less handsome and constipated looking. We partied til 3 am and I got home at 4 am.
On Saturday, I went to our college event at The Frederick Douglas Academy for our auxiliary group the Archonettes. We chatted with them about our college experiences and gave them an idea of what to expect. I wish I had something like what we hosted when I was choosing colleges because I’d definitely be in whole lot less debt. We went around the room asking the girls what they wanted to major in. We got responses like writing, record company ownership, forensic scientist, and business communications. When we asked what schools they were interested in, we got answers like Spellman, Clark-Atlanta, and Dartmouth. Needless to say I was hella impressed. I think we gave the ladies a lot to think about and a lot to look forward to. It felt good to prep some future leaders for the next level in their educational life. It also let me know that all hope may not yet be lost for our future generations. There are still some of our youth who have their minds right and don’t have their heads in the clouds.
Still tired as hell from a week of not sleeping properly and my Friday night escapades, I went to my Soror E’s home for a game night which in reality was a rouse for my Frat Brother, The Squatter to propose to my tenant The Fabulous A. She was hella surprised. It was like the third proposal I’ve witnessed in the last 8 months and it was wonderful. I love to see Black folks unite in love. It gives me hope and it makes me feel good to know that someone else has found the one they want to spend the rest of their lives with. It always takes me back to when the Zeenman proposed to me and I always recall the feelings I had. The shock of someone loving you so much that they were impelled to drop a grip on a hypnotizing precious stone. Then to have them announce to the world how much they love you and want you in their lives forever. It’s almost too hard to describe the love and joy you feel. The compliment that is paid is bigger than anything any random person could say to you.
On Sunday, I participated in WalkAmerica, the annual March of Dimes event that I’ve done for the last 10 years or so. It was absolutely exhausting for a girl who in the past 48 hours has had about 5 hrs of sleep. However I did walk the whole 12 or so miles. Then, because I’m a masochist I went up to North White Plains to hang out with my Sorors who I haven’t seen in a while because I’ve missed a couple of meetings and other events. We had a ball looking through Soror K’s time capsule of pictures and clippings and after we went back to the city and went to the restaurant where my Spec TW bartends for some good libations and some eats. I haven’t laughed so hard in a minute. I really missed my Sorors and I had the best time. At the bar there was this loony Asian chick who TW said was a regular who comes in with far-fetched stories of a grand conspiracy hatched by her soon to be ex-husband which included private eye following her every move, as well as death threats and trumped up arrest charges.
I re-named her Queen Coccania because she had to be a regular coke user who’s wacky ass story was driven by coke paranoia. I kept everyone in stitches with that one. TW had to put the verbal smackdown on her when she attempted to tie us in on her soon to be ex’s conspiracy against her because Soror C had her cell phone out and was showing me some pics she’d taken with it. Apparently Queen Coccania likes to make a scene and TW nipped it in the bud before she got ramped up. I got home by 10:30 pm and was so over exhausted I didn’t wind down until 12 am. Now mind you, I was out of the house from 7 am to 10:30 pm which made for one long friggin day. But it was worth it to bond with my Sorors.
Which brings me to today. I’m a friggin zombie who is hopped up on allergy meds since the faux spring/summer weather has morphed in to faux winter redux. Which adds up to me feeling like crap on a tired ass cracker. I can barely move and when I do it’s an 80 year old woman’s shuffle. And it blows monkey chunks. I’m praying that I don’t have to work late today because I don’t think I’m able. I’m just that frikken tired. I guess I should get back to the grind although as usual, I don’t feel like it. *Sigh*
Later…………………..
