My Day So Far & It's All Relative

So far I’ve left the house with my shirt on inside out. Which is great because I didn’t notice it til I was on the train and when I got to work I made a beeline for the bathroom so I can flip it and guess what? Deodorant stains all over. Nice huh? Did I mention the shirt is black? No? Then yeah it’s black.

I’ve realized that I’ve become one of those cranky pre-coffee people. All my conversations with my co-workers before I got my overpriced fix went like this:

Co-worker: *Hovering by cube* (I hate hovering) How’s that list for the call going?
Me: GRRRRRRRRRRRR! *Muttering incoherently*
Co-worker: *Sprinting back to desk*

Yeah so coffee first, conversation second. I think that I’m more galled at the audacity of these people to give me work on a Friday when I leave early. But in light of the fact that Tasha put the bad mouth on me, it’s likely that I will not be leaving early because something will spring up, just to fuck me over. The snark is high in me today. One of our clients made a big acquisition announcement today and they put my name and number all over it. So folks keep calling me with obvious questions that they should have answers to. I think I will just forward my phone to voicemail until I am able to not sound like I think they are idiots.

Problem is I don’t know when that will be. On the upside, my buddy JenniB & I are going to see our favorite recappers from our favorite site Television Without Pity read from their best recaps. Joy! I’ve never been to one of their events and I’m excited. It will likely be me as the cool Black representative and Jen as the only other cool chick in the place. I just have this image in my head of a room full of Comic Book Guys from The Simpsons all muttering “Worst. Recap. Ever”. all at once while pulling out their bag of tacos from Taco Bell. They’ll all be picking their pimples too. Ick!

An article in New York Magazine has said that Nerdiness is all relative now. That everyone’s a Nerd for something. Well I’m a nerd for the following:

Zeen (The hot Nerd I’m marrying. Yay! for hot Nerds)
iPod
TiVo
TV
Sex in the City
Alias
Lost
The OC
The Amazing Race
*small voice* American Idol (All hail Bo Bice!) That’s right. I said it. I watched and I’ve been watching since it started. WHAT?!

And I know I’m not the only one. I’m a geek for chick flicks too. I’ve watched The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood numerous times and I have it on DVD. My sister and I even took to greeting each other with a loud YA YA! when we saw each other. We are so going to see The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants when it comes out too. So there, I’ve laid bare my utter nerdiness for the world to see.

I feel much better.

Later…………………..
